1st CBTms

1st Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: November 2-4, 2003, in São Paulo, SP

Organization / Promotion: Faculty of Medicine of University of São Paulo (USP), with Prof. Chao Lung. Wen as organizer and Prof. György Böhm as president.

The event aimed to promote the importance of telemedicine as a growing practice in Brazil, as it provides solutions to medical education activities, health prevention and care to patients. The event stimulated a reflection on the different professional opportunities, as well as addressed the great potential of telemedicine to contribute to Brazilian health system, by structuring the communication networks that integrate all the country.

Concomitantly to the congress, several activities were carried out, such as: Journey of Teleophthalmology (Oculoplastic Workshop), Journey of Telenursing, Journey Telephysiatry, Journey of Telenutrition, Telemicrobiology Workshop, Brazilian Medical Association Forum, Journey of Teledermatology and Microsoft Training on DotNet technology. At the end of the congress, occurred the convocation for general meeting that, by consensus, has indicated the interim board for the first term of three years (2003-2006) of CBTms.

2nd CBTms

2nd Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: October 23-26, 2005, in São Paulo, SP

Organization / Promotion: CBTms in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of São Paulo (USP), with Prof. Chao Lung. Wen as organizer and Prof. György Böhm as president.

The event was characterized by international participation; by the announcement of the winning group of the Telemedicine Project from the Public Notice Millennium Institutes Program, by the the CNP / MCT; by the encouragment of Teleradiology, Emergency and Trauma, Teletechnologies and Telecardiology; by the completion of the II Conference of ATALACC (coordination of Gisell Riccur), the II Conference of Teledentistry, the II Conference of Telenursing and Workshop on Introduction to the practice of videoconferencing, among other activities. At the opening ceremony of the Congress, the solemnity of the Telemedicine Project of Millennium Institutes Program, CNPq, was carried out.

3rd Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: November 8-10, 2007, in Rio de Janeiro, RJ

Organization / Promotion: Brazilian Council of Telemedicine and Telehealth (CBTms) in partnership with the  Faculty of Medical Sciences, State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with Alexandra Monteiro as president. The event aimed: discuss concepts in telemedicine and telehealth area, present implemented projects and those on implementation process at national level, in addition to show the actions of financing agencies and the application of resources to the implementation and sustainability of telemedicine and telehealth in the national scene. It was held the 1st Workshop on Telehealth, promoted by the Secretary of Labor Management and Health Education, of the the Ministry of Health, in which the National Telehealth Program was presented and crucial issues such as ethics, legislation, compensation and sustainability of telehealth were discussed .

4th CBTms

4th Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: December 9-12, 2009, in Belo Horizonte, MG

Organization / Promotion: CBTms was organized by Prof. Alaneir Fatima dos Santos and a team, with Prof. Claudio de Souza as Congress honor president. The event established a partnership with Hospital das Clínicas, FHEMIG, Risoleta Neves University Hospital, School of Public Health of the state of Minas Gerais, Scientific Computing Laboratory of UFMG and other UFMG units. In addition to the Congress, it was held the II Workshop of the Laboratory of Excellence and Innovation in Telehealth – Latin America and Europe. The Congress has presented experiences and reflections on the ways and challenges for the development of telehealth in the country and has promoted knowledge exchange, focusing on the major development trends on telehealth at international level. The event received participants from Germany, Argentina, Australia, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Spain, United States, Finland, France, Guatemala, England, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and Peru.

5th CBTms

5th Brazilian and International Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: November 19-22, 2011, in Manaus, AM

Theme: Innovation and Sustainability – telemedicine actions in BRIC(A) countries

Organization / Promotion: CBTms in partnership with the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) had as congress presidents Prof. Cleinaldo Costa and Dr. Pedro Elias, and it counted on Prof. György M. Böhm as honor president. The congress discussed the importance of development, deployment and maintenance of new technologies and educational models, besides encouraging research activities in Manaus.

6th CBTms

6th Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Date and Venue: November 20-22, 2013, in São Paulo, SP

Theme: Health in the Future and Future of Health

Organization / Promotion: CBTms in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine of University of São Paulo (USP). As president of the congress, Prof. György Miklós Böhm, Vice-President, Prof. Wu Tu Hsing and as honor president, Prof. Luiz Carlos Lobo. The Congress was characterized by a rich integration between academia and the government (federal, state and municipal).

7th Brazilian Congress of Telemedicine and Telehealth

Theme: Telehealth for universalization of Health

Organization / Promotion: Brazilian Council of Telemedicine and Telehealth (CBTms) in partnership with the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (IsfTeH) and organized by the Telehealth Laboratory of State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ)
