Mission and Objectives


Promoting the exchange of knowledge and experiences amongst public and private entities, technical and scientific community and international organizations active in the context of Telemedicine and Telehealth, fostering the spread of good practices and the strengthening of education and research on behalf of all Brazilian society.



In the development of its activities, the Association will observe the principles of legality, impersonality, morality, publicity, economy and efficiency, for the following purposes:

I – Gathering doctors, health professionals and others, as well as entities and organizations of any legal nature, who are interested in Telemedicine and Telehealth;

II – Proposing, analyzing, promoting and striving for technical, ethical and professional standards in Telemedicine and Telehealth, along with the competent legal authorities in order to facilitate and improve the practice of Telemedicine and Telehealth in Brazil and abroad;

III – Encouraging research, studies, courses for the general public, postgraduate courses and university extension, continuing education programs for all types of professionals in Telemedicine and Telehealth;

IV – Holding meetings, conferences, seminars, symposia and congresses with the aim of approximating its members and disclosing subject matters their interest;

V – Promoting the dissemination of nature, application, advantages and risks of Telemedicine and Telehealth along with Brazilian society, especially the sectors responsible for medical care and preservation of health,

VI – Developing electronic publications and other on matters related to Telemedicine and Telehealth considering the interest of members and general public;

VII – Cooperating with public authorities and private entities in the implementation, maintenance and development of the good practice in Telemedicine and Telehealth;

VIII – Attracting material resources and incentives necessary to achieve the proposed objectives;

IX – Establishing partnerships with international entities to represent Brazilian Telemedicine and Telehealth along with these international bodies;

X – Developing joint actions with institutions and national and international government agencies to promote the improvement of health or encouragement of scientific activities.
